August is a digital artist who focuses on story driven artwork, storyboards, concept work and animation.
They graduated from the Columbus College of Art & Design in 2023 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation
They live in Columbus, Ohio, and work across the country, as they travel to video game competitions, anime, and comic conventions. In their spare time, they enjoy picking up their illustrative worlds, sewing costumes, as well as obsessively collecting reference that they will definitely

Artist Statement
As a child, I was very lucky to have fallen into the art world with supportive parents. With the myriad of people my parents knew, mostly fellow immigrants, I was introduced to the world of digital artwork when I was very young. I drew with a mouse for a long time, honing my skills in MS Paint. Then, at twelve years old, I received my first drawing tablet. This was a game changer for me.
I learned a huge number of techniques and programs while drawing what I loved: characters and the interactions between them.
I wove huge stories with all the characters I drew. Looking back at all the old work, I can see all the passion my younger self had for it. It was fun! I had friends to talk to about characters, and collaborate on the stories. I spent long hours working and reworking these things, drawing characters as soon as I got home from school until I had to sleep. As I grew, not much had changed. My passion for storytelling and character interaction has only grown alongside me and my talent and drive to improve. I still spend hours before the computer or on my iPad to learn, create, tell my characters’ stories.
Along the way I was lucky enough to see so many changes of technology, learn those changes, see different types of talent, learn a ton of techniques, and see stories in fan projects or original work, many of which are gone from the internet now, that I could point at and say “Wow, I want to do that too!” or “I want my stories to have that effect on people”. My goal is to be able to reach people first and foremost, but being able to educate, tell a story from an immigrant’s point of view, or make the story memorable for even just one person out there, is more than enough for me.
